Decorative lines are commonly used decorative materials in house decoration, which are a type of decorative edge used to match the top surface of the wall. The price of decorative lines is cheap and the decorative effect is good. More and more families are using this decorative material in their decoration. What aspects should be paid attention to when choosing decorative lines? How to do the plastering of decoration lines? Let's take a look with the editor at the knowledge of choosing decorative lines and plastering.

1. Selection of decorative lines

(1) Look at the depth of the pattern. Generally speaking, the concave and convex patterns of decorative lines should be at least 10mm, so that the decorative lines can have a three-dimensional sense and the decorative effect can be better. If the concave and convex surfaces of decorative lines are only 5-9mm, the decorative effect of this decorative line will be much worse.

(2) Check the smoothness of the surface of the lines. When purchasing decorative lines, check the surface smoothness of the decorative lines. Decorative lines with good texture and smoothness are essential for achieving excellent decorative effects. Even if the gypsum lines with rough and uneven surfaces are installed far away, they still give people a feeling of rough and excessive production.

(3) Look at the cross-section. Most decorative lines are gypsum lines, so when choosing gypsum lines, pay attention to the cross-section of the gypsum lines. Several layers of fiber mesh should be laid inside the gypsum line to ensure its strength. Some inferior gypsum lines do not have fiber mesh laid inside or have poor quality fiber mesh. When purchasing, you can ask the distributor for the cross-section of the gypsum line to judge its quality.

2. Decorative line plastering method

Decorative line plastering is a relatively complex process, and a slight mistake during construction can affect the overall decorative effect. The process of decorative line plastering follows the steps of finding the rules → positioning → pulling the plaster line → detailed treatment. Below, we will introduce some of these steps in detail.

(1) Find rules. The steps of finding rules for decorative line plastering are the same as those for general plastering, but the requirements for finding rules for decorative line plastering are higher and slightly more complex. When finding rules for decorative lines, the four corners of the roof of the house should be square, and the corners of yin and yang must be square. At the same time, it is necessary to determine the thickness of the ceiling plastering, and to mark the horizontal line of the water on top. The order of plastering should also be noted, starting with the bottom and middle layers of the wall and ceiling. The higher ups don't need to be wiped now.

(2) Positioning. The so-called positioning is to determine the position of the template, which is the most important in decorative line plastering. The construction of positioning is both simple and complex, and the key is that the position of the template must not be wrong. When positioning, first use a ruler to find the correct angle, then determine the position of the upper ruler on the outside of the mold head, and snap a horizontal line according to the position.

(3) Pull the gray line. Pull the gray line after the template is fixed. Be careful when pulling the gray line, preferably in layers, to avoid cracking and bulging of the mortar layer due to excessive thickness of the cement mortar layer. We will first apply a thin layer using a 1:1 cement mortar, followed by a 1:4 cement mortar. After two layers, the gray line basically comes out.
